overtures to right wing american evangelicals

[edit]

this book https://fivebooks.com/book/road-armageddon-how-evangelicals-became-israels-best-friend-by-timothy-p-weber/ has a history of American evangelicals and their relation to Israel; it details how Begin and other Israeli leaders made great efforts to be friends to people like Jerry Falwell https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Falwell who might well be considered to be ultra right wing here in the US

Nazi occupation

[edit]

In his political speeches and such in the 1940s, did he ever directly compare the British government in Palestine to the Nazi occupation of Eastern Europe? Given his history, it would be weird if he didn't. But nothing currently in the page says it. (tag me in replies, please) I.M.B. (talk) 08:45, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lack of Jimmy Carter or the US

[edit]

The Nobel prize for peace, which was granted to Begin & Sadat in 1979 was also eventually granted to Jimmy Carter, who played a critical role in the peace talks between Israel and Egypt, culminating in a treaty that remains in place to this day. Now that Carter has passed, all three men are gone. Please give President Carter his due place in prime Minister Begin’s page with an honorable mention as it is on President Sadat’s Wikipedia page.
