Delaware
[edit]Why is Delaware considered part of the South? it is not 76.202.60.124 (talk) 14:43, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- Because it's south of the Mason-Dixon line, and was a slave state until after the Civil War, as with Maryland. What makes you think it's not part of the South? BilCat (talk) 22:05, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- @BilCat The Wikipedia article on Delaware opens thusly: "Delaware (/ˈdɛləwɛər/ ⓘ DEL-ə-wair) is a state in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern region of the United States." So it's a valid question, in my opinion. 90.143.18.142 (talk) 22:08, 24 August 2024 (UTC)

- Each mention of Delaware in this topic gives enough information that the question is not necessary TEDickey (talk) 23:07, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
Puerto Rico
[edit]is puerto rico part of the south? press x to doubt 158.222.196.233 (talk) 19:05, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
Although not included in the Census definition, two U.S. territories located southeast of Florida (Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) are sometimes included as part of the Southern United States. The Federal Aviation Administration includes Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands as part of the South,[1] as does the Agricultural Research Service and the U.S. National Park Service.[2][3]
