We should have an article on every pyramid and every nome in Ancient Egypt. I'm sure the rest of us can think of other articles we should have.
Cleanup.
To start with, most of the general history articles badly need attention. And I'm told that at least some of the dynasty articles need work. Any other candidates?
Standardize the Chronology.
A boring task, but the benefit of doing it is that you can set the dates !(e.g., why say Khufu lived 2589-2566? As long as you keep the length of his reign correct, or cite a respected source, you can date it 2590-2567 or 2585-2563)
Stub sorting
Anyone? I consider this probably the most unimportant of tasks on Wikipedia, but if you believe it needs to be done . . .
Data sorting.
This is a project I'd like to take on some day, & could be applied to more of Wikipedia than just Ancient Egypt. Take one of the standard authorities of history or culture -- Herotodus, the Elder Pliny, the writings of Breasted or Kenneth Kitchen, & see if you can't smoothly merge quotations or information into relevant articles. Probably a good exercise for someone who owns one of those impressive texts, yet can't get access to a research library.

Many of the theories are presented as fact. An example is that the pyramid was a tomb, when no such firm evidence exists. This needs rewriting to emphasize they are only theories (more like POV), not theories presented as fact. 143.58.173.57 (talk) 10:17, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The summary states that the Great Pyramid of Giza is "the only wonder that has remained largely intact". The thing is, none of the others are even slightly intact as they've all been destroyed. Maybe this could be reworded as "the only wonder that is still standing", the way its described in the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World article. Mravava (talk) 18:18, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've followed this article for a good while and watched it grow. There's a lot of good stuff now, but it's all over the place structurally and there's a lot of repetition. I think it has the potential to be a really good article. Would there be any appetite among the current editors for some peer review? Would anyone mind if I started to take a hack at it myself? Under section "Pyramidion and missing tip" please remove ", and the survey mast is still in place" and add the following:
The survey mast was still in place as of May 1 2019, when a man climbed the pyramid and removed part of the wooden mast. According to Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, "[...] the wooden mast is a modern object that the authority places and changes every few years as it is subject to erosion and sunlight" and that "Spoiling it (the mast) is not considered a crime according to the law of antiquities or the law of protecting the antiquities".[1] Soon after, the damaged mast was removed entirely and has not been replaced since. @DrOrinScrivello That's the crux of the matter: I didn't find any English sources going into more detail. A news clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtmMG7fB58w) shows that the man actually toppled the mast and Arabic news articles state that he uprooted it. What happened to the mast afterwards isn't reported but it's safe to assume that the authorities removed whatever was left because it's gone.
Partly done: I've included a sentence about the damage to the mast, and if a reliable source ever reports about it not being replaced we can then add that info. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 16:00, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is sufficient evidence that has been presented regarding natron theory and the use of Geopolymeric limestone in the construction of the Great Pyramid, the pyramid of Khafre, and the pyramid of Menkaure. This idea is briefly mentioned and dismissed in the construction section of this page in a way that oddly seems to to contradict the source paper provided, while simultaneously ignoring the many other published articles of research that have since been done on the topic.
Additionally, this idea of the pyramid being a tomb is outdated and should be updated. There is absolutely no evidence or historical precedence for this hypothesis. Please update. Thank you for your time. 2603:8000:C100:A7C5:3D28:D5CD:2C0F:9737 (talk) 15:56, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
